This project provides further assistance to the ten communities where We Rise Together has supported two or more community-led real estate developments: Auburn Gresham, Austin, Back of the Yards, Englewood, Gage Park, North Lawndale, South Lawndale, South Shore, Washington Park, and West Lawn.
We have partnered with seven chambers of commerce and place-based organizations throughout these communities to support our efforts in connecting entrepreneurs with property owners and providing them resources to be successful.

Gresham, or Auburn-Gresham, is one of the 77 official community areas of the city of Chicago. It is located on the far south side of the city, and is one of 10 priority communities selected as a part of the initial phase of Chicago's INVEST South/West commercial corridor improvement strategy.
Austin is one of 77 community areas in Chicago. Located on the city's West Side, it is the third largest community area by population and the second-largest geographically.

Englewood is a neighborhood and community area located on the South Side of Chicago, and is the 68th of the 77 community areas in the city.
Gage Park is one of Chicago's 77 well-defined community areas, located on the city's southwest side; it is also the name of a park within the neighborhood. Gage Park's population is largely working-class.
North and South Lawndale are two of the 77 community areas of the city of Chicago, located on its West Side. South Lawndale contains Little Village, a strong culture hub for Hispanic, Polish, and Czech peoples.

Washington Park is a community area on the South Side of Chicago which includes the 372 acre (1.5 km2) park of the same name and the DuSable Museum of African American History.
West Lawn, one of Chicago's 77 official community areas, is located on the southwest side of the city. It is considered to be a "melting pot" of sorts, due to its constant change of cultures moving in and out of the area, as well as the diversity that exists there.
